Teams Information
We have weekly coached training sessions for all our 6 teams (using 4 Central London venues) and these cater to the needs of our Complete Beginners all the way through to Elite level competitive players. Our coaches will provide an initial assessment grading for all new players and this determines the team that they would be invited into. Ongoing players skill development is valued and supported by our Coaching Committee, who regularly scout for players from within our other teams. Improving players will be offered a new team for a new challenge. (Casual membership is Not available for our competition teams, but is available for Sunday Recreation Volleyball). Players within our 4 Competitive League Teams are asked to make a commitment to regular trainings and matches. In addition, our Five 2hour uncoached recreational Sunday sessions at Bethnal Green, are another great chance for team players to get more play time, and we get to also welcome Casual Players to Drop-in and join us for some fun-competitive social volleyball.
London Apollo LSVC
(C- to C Level): Apollo is our access level team for complete beginners. If you have played little or no volleyball before, then this is the best place for you to grow. Created in 2010, this team now has 2 coached training sessions per week, (Sundays and Thursdays). New players are able to block book 10 weeks at a time starting at 3 set dates throughout the season, and they can opt to train once or twice a week. The sessions are designed to be a fun good place to learn volleyball. The Apollo team is one of the most sociable and friendly within our club. The Thursday 7pm sessions , are at a new college building in Central London, and Sundays 12noon sessions are at Bethnal Green Sports Centre.

London Rockets LSVC
(C to C+ Level): Rockets is our experienced beginners level team. If you have played some volleyball before, then this is the best place for you to learn more. Rockets provide the perfect opportunity to learn all about volleyball in a very friendly, fun and supportive way. This is a very sociable team within our club, and they take every opportunity to play friendly matches and to travel to weekend tournaments abroad. Weekly coached training sessions take place at 7pm every Thursday@ King Solomon Academy, near Edgware Rd tube. Also, an open Recreational session for players of this skill level, takes place each Sunday at Bethnal Green Sports Centre from 2pm to 4pm. These are often followed with social drinks & food somewhere nearby.
London Thunderball LSVC
(B- to B Level): Thunderball is the Intermediate level access team at LSVC. For those seeking to play competition volleyball and at a step up from Beginners, then this is a great team to join. The team is full of fun characters and has a lively spirit. Thunderball is registered within the London League Division 2 (entry level), and play matches every 2 weeks. Weekly coached training sessions take place at Elephant & Castle Sports Centre at 8pm every Thursday evening, and an open Recreational session for players of this skill level, takes place each Sunday at Bethnal Green Sports Centre from 12noon to 2pm.
LSVC Fireball
(B to B+ Level): Fireball is the upper Intermediate level team at Spikers and is for those seeking to have a more competitive and challenging level of play. We have one of our most experienced coaches provide focussed team building and individual skills development. The team won promotion to London League Div1 last season and will have matches every 2 weeks this season. Weekly coached training sessions take place 7pm every Tuesday evening at a new college in Central London, and an open Recreational session for players of this skill level, takes place each Sunday at Bethnal Green Sports Centre from 12noon to 2pm.
London Powerball LSVC
(B+ to A Level): Powerball is the entry access team to Advanced level competitive volleyball at LSVC. This team is for those who have both the skills to play, and an ambition to learn more advanced volleyball strategy. The team has a history of being very socialable and fun. This season they will be guided through the London Competition League Division 1, by a very experienced and skilled coach. In addition to their matches held every 2 weeks, their weekly coached training sessions take place on Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm at Bethnal Green Sports Centre. An open Recreational session for players of this skill level, takes place each Sunday at Bethnal Green Sports Centre from 2pm to 4pm.
London Spikers LSVC
(A+ Level): Spikers is our Flagship Advanced upper level squad. Our team has an internationally talented collection of players who are very used to pushing their training, solid skills and matches, all the way and beyond. Many years of no attitude, diverse approaches and great collaboration, have resulted in a successful dynamic within this team.
In addition to competing in the London Premier League each season, we will continue our collaboration with London Knights to bring about National League Division 1 experiences for our Elite players. These combined training sessions take place on Wednesday evenings at Bethnal Green Sports Centre at 7pm, and an open Recreational session for players of this skill level, takes place each Sunday at Bethnal Green Sports Centre from 2pm to 4pm.
The squad are winners of the London Premier League 2008, 2009 & 2011, and we are the home of the winners of the top AA Volleyball level 2010 GayGames (a 4-yearly worldwide sports competition). We also earned the honour to represent the London Volleyball Association Region at the National Regional Championships in 2008 & 2009 (where we were runners up winners), and then winners in 2011.
